Custom Oral Appliances

If you or your child participates in sports, it’s important to have a custom mouth guard to protect the teeth and jaw from injury. Mouth guards are especially important for patients with orthodontic braces. We take an impression of your teeth, then create a device fitted to your mouth for a more comfortable fit, easier breathing, and better protection. Preventing injury is much more budget-friendly than repairing the damage caused by facial trauma.

Our office makes custom-fitted night guards that alleviate stress on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) which may be resulting in soreness or pain.

With all the stresses experienced by our bodies, we may not realize that the soreness or pain we are experiencing in their jaw or ears may be due to stresses on our temporomandibular joint. Bruxism is a condition that causes clenching and/or grinding of teeth that can cause additional, unnecessarily stress on tooth surfaces and can also lead to TMJ pain.

Our office can fabricate custom appliances to help alleviate those stresses and prevent further damage and pain. Typically worn at night, these removable acrylic appliances can help provide relief from temporomandibular joint pain and other effects of grinding the teeth.

We also offer custom-fitted oral appliances for patients to wear when they are sleeping. An effective treatment for both snoring and sleep apnea, these comfortable and easy to wear appliances help prevent sleep apnea by positioning the lower jaw and tongue to maintain an open airway and minimizes airway obstruction during sleep.
