Lee S. on getting a dental implant and correcting her TMJ

I’ve had an implant which was … I mean I could not believe it was totally, no pain whatsoever. I expected something with an implant but there was no pain. I had had a tooth missing back here for years and just I guess because it didn’t show in my smile I didn’t do anything about it but it really needed to be done to keep my teeth from shifting and things like that and so I finally decided to go ahead and do it.

I always avoided eating on that side where the tooth was missing. It probably had my alignment out, I had some TMJ, everything just kind of went back to normal and I was able to chew on both sides. Yes it gave me a lot of relief. I’ve had TMJ for years and years ago I actually had braces to kind of get my teeth in line. I’m a night grinder, where I grind my teeth in my sleep, so I have a lot of pain in my jaw and I just told him about it and he got me a night guard, fitted me for a night guard, and when you wear that after a few nights you’re comfortable with it and it helps for me to sleep.
